Welcome to the Two Hearts Four Wheels,  Camp Heartland Journey .

Two Hearts Four Wheels is the dream of two nurses, Sherry Woldberg and Devra Batz, who have combined their love of cycling with their dedication to improving the lives of children infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.

It is with great pride and anticipation that on June 1, 2006 they will begin a three-month journey to pedal their bicycles across the northern tier of the United States. Departing from Seattle, Washington, they will travel east, pedaling self-supported over 4000 miles to Bar Harbor, Maine.

Sherry and Devra are both critical care nurses, who for the past four years have volunteered their time and nursing skills to an organization which has become very dear to their hearts. What makes this journey so special is that they will be serving as ambassadors for this organization.

Camp Heartland, is a non-profit organization founded in 1993. It is a year-round program that provides life enhancing experiences for children infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. The summer camps, which are located in Willow River, Minnesota, and for two weeks each year near Malibu, California, are equipped with medical facilities able to handle the special needs of immune-compromised children. Camp Heartland provides children living with HIV/AIDS the chance to step out of the shadow of secrecy, into the light of openness and honesty, a place where they can have the best week of their lives. But, more than just one week of each year, Camp Heartland follows these children throughout the year providing much needed guidance and most importantly, love and acceptance.

It costs approximately $3500.00 to support one child throughout the year. As Sherry and Devra pedal across America, they hope to raise enough money to sponsor 10 children, ensuring their participation at camp and the year round benefits of Camp Heartland.  100% of your contributions will go directly to Camp Heartland, while their hearts and legs will support them as they pedal across this wonderful country.

They  look forward to meeting the people of America and spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS and its impact on the lives of our children. This web site was designed to provide them with a medium in which they can share their journey with all of their supporters.
